Registration & Eligibility

How much does registration cost?

• Football: $275 per player
• Cheer: $250 per participant

What ages can participate?

HAFL serves children ages 4-12 as of July 31, 2026.

What divisions are available?

Freshman: Ages 4-6
Eligible Birthdates: August 1, 2019 – July 31, 2022

Sophomore: Ages 7-8
Eligible Birthdates: August 1, 2017 – July 31, 2019

Junior: Ages 9-10
Eligible Birthdates: August 1, 2015 – July 31, 2017

Senior: Ages 11-12
Eligible Birthdates: August 1, 2013 – July 31, 2015

What documents are required?

Parents will be required to upload:

• Birth Certificate (Required)
• Current Player/Cheerleader Photo (Required)

Additional documentation may be requested if needed.

Team Formation

Is HAFL still a zoning league?

No. Beginning in 2026, HAFL will move away from zoning.

How are teams formed?

HAFL is a draft league. Coaches will draft players following the combine and evaluation process.

Why did HAFL move away from zoning?

The goal is to create balanced competition, improve player development, and strengthen the overall league experience.

Combines, Drafts & Practices

When are the player combines?

• July 11, 2026
• July 18, 2026

Is attendance required?

Attendance is strongly encouraged to assist with player evaluations and team placement.

When will teams be drafted?

All drafts will be completed by July 23, 2026.

When do practices begin?

The week of July 27, 2026.

What are practice times?

Practice times are generally:
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Freshman teams are limited to 1.5 hours per practice session in accordance with Alliance rules.

Where are practices held?

Practice locations may include:

• Atascocita Middle School
• River Pines Elementary School
• West Lake Middle School
• Autumn Ridge Middle School

Practice locations are subject to change.

What does registration include?

HAFL provides:

What equipment must families provide?

Players must provide:

• Helmet with Chin Strap
• Shoulder Pads

Practice Attire:
Practice jersey and practice pant colors will be determined by each team's coaching staff after the draft. Coaches will communicate practice attire requirements directly to their players and families. Parents are encouraged to wait until receiving guidance from their coach before purchasing practice apparel.

Equipment Safety:
All equipment must be properly fitted and maintained to help ensure player safety throughout the season. Players are required to bring all mandatory equipment to every practice, scrimmage, and game.

How are uniform sizes selected?

Parents will select sizes during registration.

Will sizes be confirmed?

Yes. Uniform sizing will be verified during the official sizing/combine events.

What if my player does not attend sizing?

Uniforms will be ordered using the size submitted during registration. HAFL is not responsible for sizing issues if a player does not attend the sizing event.

Preseason Scrimmage Day:

When does the regular season begin?

September 12, 2026

How many games will teams play?

Each team will play an 8-game regular season schedule.

What are the regular season game dates?

Are games played on Saturdays?

Yes. Regular season games are scheduled primarily on Saturdays.

Will there be games on Labor Day weekend?

No.

Will there be practices or games during Fall Break?

No.

Humble ISD Fall Break:
October 12-16, 2026

No practices, games, or league activities will be held during this week.
