2026 Football Registration Information


Football Registration

What's Included:
HAFL football registration includes a game jersey, game pants, helmet decal, program book, and an individual player award. Players will participate in combines, practices, an 8-game regular season, playoffs, and postseason tournament opportunities.


Parent Responsibility:
Parents are responsible for providing a white football helmet with chin strap, shoulder pads, practice jersey, practice pants, football cleats, mouthpiece, and a football girdle with thigh, hip, and knee pads. Practice attire requirements will be communicated by the coaching staff after teams are drafted.

Cheer Registration

What's Included:
HAFL cheer registration includes a cheer shell top, skirt, bloomers, pom-poms, socks, and hair bow. Cheerleaders will support their teams throughout the season while developing teamwork, leadership, confidence, and school spirit.



Parent Responsibility:
Parents are responsible for providing all-white tennis shoes. Optional spirit items, bags, warm-ups, and additional accessories may be available for purchase through the team or cheer organization.

2026 HAFL Football & Cheer Registration Information Player Eligibility

HAFL is open to youth ages 4-12 as of July 31, 2026.

Football Divisions

  • Freshman: Ages 4-6
  • Sophomore: Ages 7-8
  • Junior: Ages 9-10
  • Senior: Ages 11-12

Players must meet age requirements to participate.


Registration Fees

Football

  • $275 per player

Cheer

  • $250 per cheerleader

New for 2026: League-Wide Draft

HAFL is eliminating zoning for the 2026 season.

All football players will be assigned to teams through the HAFL Draft process. Players are no longer required to live in a specific area or attend a specific school to participate.

Every registered player who meets eligibility requirements will be placed on a team.


Player Evaluations & Draft

All football players are strongly encouraged to attend at least one scheduled player combine/evaluation.

During evaluations, players will participate in basic drills including:

  • Running
  • Throwing
  • Catching
  • Footwork

Player evaluations help coaches build balanced teams and confirm uniform sizing.


Players unable to attend will be drafted using registration information, including:

  • Age
  • Height
  • Weight
  • Previous football experience


Draft Dates

  • July 11, 2026
  • July 18, 2026

Division-specific times will be announced.

Required Football Equipment

Parents are responsible for providing:

Practice Attire:
Practice jersey and practice pant colors will be determined by each team's coaching staff after the draft. Coaches will communicate practice attire requirements directly to their players and families. Parents are encouraged to wait until receiving guidance from their coach before purchasing practice apparel.


Equipment Safety:
All equipment must be properly fitted and maintained to help ensure player safety throughout the season. Players are required to bring all mandatory equipment to every practice, scrimmage, and game.


Proof of Age

Football players must provide a certified birth certificate.

Cheerleaders are not required to submit proof of age.


Season Information

  • Practice Begins: Week of July 27, 2026
  • Season Opener Scrimmages: August 2026 (date TBD)
  • First Regular Season Game: August 2026 (date TBD)
  • Super Bowl: November 2026 (date TBD)
  • Alliance Tournament: November 2026 (date TBD)

Games are typically played on Saturdays, with occasional weeknight games if needed.


Fall Break

Humble ISD Fall Break will serve as a league bye week. No games will be scheduled during that period.


Playing Time

HAFL and the Lone Star Youth Football Alliance operate under the principle:

"Everyone Makes a Team. Everyone Plays."

All eligible players will receive playing opportunities during the regular season in accordance with league participation rules.


Team Composition:

  • Freshman: 11-15 players (8-man game on smaller field)
  • Sophomore-Senior: 15-25 players
    The HAFL reserves the right to adjust team sizes for balance.


Coaching Information

All coaches must:

  • Complete the online coach registration
  • Pass a background check
  • Complete USA Football certification requirements
  • Attend league meetings, evaluations, and draft events

HAFL is always seeking positive coaches and volunteers committed to developing young athletes on and off the field.


Refund Policy

Football

Refund requests must be submitted in writing.

  • Full refund less a $50 processing fee before a player attends evaluations or enters the draft process.
  • No refunds after evaluations or once the draft process begins.
  • No refunds based on team assignment.

Cheer

Refund requests must be submitted in writing.

  • Full refund less a $50 processing fee before uniforms are ordered.
  • No refunds after uniforms have been ordered.


Cheer Program Information

HAFL Cheer is a community-based recreational cheer program focused on spirit, teamwork, and supporting HAFL football teams.

Cheerleaders may request to be assigned with:

  • A football player
  • Another cheerleader
  • A coach

Team assignment requests must be made during registration and cannot be changed after uniforms are ordered.

Parents are expected to actively support their cheer squad, and volunteer involvement is essential to the success of the program.


Open Registration

HAFL welcomes players from all communities. Your child does not need to live in Humble, Atascocita, or attend a Humble ISD school to participate. Join us for an exciting 2026 season focused on player development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and community.
